Jaffar Dawood

Jaffar Dawood Jaffar is a keen sportsman and enjoys rugby. He recently joined the Board of the Dubai Hurricanes and is keen to see the club continue its growth and success, ensuring that it remains true to its vision, mission and values.

In his professional career Jaffar leads dnata’s Airline Services portfolio in Dubai. This includes all below the wing activities for Emirates Airline and all turnaround activities for our other customer airlines at Dubai International Airport (Terminal 1 and 2). Jaffar started his career with the Emirates Group in 1992 and is a true Ground Handling expert. His previous positions include VP Customer Services, VP Business Support and DVP Airside Operations. Jaffar holds his current role since 2017.

Simon Lewis

Simon has been with the Dubai Hurricanes in 2006 where he helped start the Youth section with just 7 players. Since then he has been an active coach, squad manager, club secretary and more recently Club Chairman.

In his professional career Simon is a member of the dnata Executive Team, directly supporting and assisting the President Group Services & dnata in the design and management of the strategic planning processes which develop and implement the One dnata Strategy and its three year rolling Medium Term Plan across 84 countries and 40,000+ colleagues.

Peter Clapp

Peter joined Dubai Hurricanes as a coach in the ‘Minis’ during 2012 and later started the Adult Touch rugby section of the club. Having acted as Mini & Youth Chairman and Tournament Director of the HSBC Rugby Festival for the past two seasons, he remains an active coach, squad manager and vet player (‘DaddyCanes’ and Touch) and is the current Chairman of the UAE Rugby Mini & Youth Committee.

Professionally he is Vice President of Parsons Corporation in the Middle East & Africa, ensuring their project planning and controls across the region; He has previously sat on Parsons’ cross Business-Unit ‘Leadership Council’ and acted as a major Programme Director. Pete begun his career with BAE Systems in the UK and has held his current role since 2014.
